  • Twice as many women as men are diagnosed with depression
  • Depression is one of the most common causes of long-term sick leave and early retirement
  • Depression is the most frequent mental illness as a result of long-term stress

What is depression?
Depression refers to a prolonged feeling of overwhelming fatigue, hopelessness, meaninglessness and lack of resources to change the situation. If you are suffering from depression, you cannot "just pull yourself together". That is why it is very important that you visit your doctor to be examined and referred for the relevant depression treatment, if for a longer period you have experienced sadness, reduced energy and diminished desire to do more or less anything at all.
